Once is too many times to be hacked. It's a terrible waste of our time
and resources. Usually the damage is minor but the time taken to repair
and resecure the website could have been spent more constructively.
The last few versions of PHPNuke have had a number of security holes.
We made a number of repairs over the summer to the sites that we knew
were subject to these vulnerabilities. However a number of new security
problems have been recently exposed and the news section of this site was
hacked once again February 13, 2005.
Because of the vulnerabilities posed by PHPNuke, we are encouraging all
of our customers who use the PHPNuke content management systems (cms)
to migrate to a different cms at this time. There are many cms
applications to choose from and our customers can easily install at
least 8 different cms applications from the Fantastico section of your
CPanel.
If you need assistance migrating your data or installing a cms, please
let us know. We are always available to help you with any of your
webhosting needs. |
